The role

As an Investment & Research Associate, you will lead Samaipata’s investment research efforts — from building proactive theses to supporting due diligence.

As a member of Samaipata’s investment team you will be involved in the sourcing and execution of deals. Moreover, you will work closely with our marketing team to drive our pipeline of externally shared investment research.

You will gain exposure to top founders, investors and operators while developing the skills to kickstart your career as a venture capitalist.

What will you be doing

Research & content: Read, analyze, and write on emerging technologies and business models. Contribute to Samaipata’s internal and external thought leadership.
Deal sourcing & execution: Screen opportunities, identify high-potential areas and support end-to-end investment processes.
Portfolio & platform support: Support our portfolio and contribute to strategic projects across the firm.

What we're looking for

Genuine interest in technology, entrepreneurship and venture capital
~2 years of professional experience in a demanding business/tech environment
Strong academic background in business or STEM
Outstanding written & oral communication skills
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Project management skill and ability to juggle multiple deadlines with different stakeholders
Native/bilingual in English & Spanish (French/German a plus)
Based in (or able to relocate to) Madrid

Samaipata was founded in 2016 by two entrepreneurs, José del Barrio and Eduardo Díez-Hochleitner. José was the co-founder and CEO of the leading food-delivery platform in Spain (La Nevera Roja) which sold for $100 million. Eduardo was founder of a 3D sound system sold to Dolby (IMM Sound), former partner at Apax Partners, a prolific business angel and executive, most recently Chairman at MásMóvil, the first Southern European Decacorn.
